PROJECT MANAGER: 15+ years experience in land development related projects. Experience with business development, client relations, conceptual planning, proposal development, contract negotiations and regulatory compliance is mandatory. Colorado PE required.
SENIOR STRUCTURAL ENGINEER: BS in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structures. Must have 5-10 years comprehensive structural engineering experience with engineering consulting firm designing building structural systems, including coordination with other disciplines. Licensed Professional Engineer. - Must have a thorough understanding and knowledge of the architectural and engineering industry, including the Federal, State, and local codes and regulations that pertain to the industry. Limited travel as required meeting project requirements. Strong oral and written communication skills. Experience using Microsoft Office (or similar software). Background in foundations, steel, concrete, masonry, and wood design for commercial and industrial buildings. Strong working knowledge of Structural Design Software and AutoCAD preferred.
Responsibilities include performing specific project design and development tasks, including drawings, calculations, cost estimates and specifications, respond to clients’ questions and comments, review contractor submittals, and provide clarifications during construction. Adhere to accepted industry and company standards. Plan, schedule, conduct, coordinate, and in a supervisory capacity, make decisions independently and direct the development of structural engineering projects.
Must communicate with other disciplines to ensure project documents are completely coordinated. When assigned, supervise, coordinate and review the work of other engineers, designers, and CADD operators.
WATER RESOURCES ENGINEER: HCL Engineering & Surveying has an opportunity for a Water Resources Engineer in our Denver, Colorado office. Qualified candidates must have a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering and a minimum of 5 years experience in detailed hydrologic and hydraulic engineering analysis and design, storm water drainage and erosion sediment control. Knowledge of state and local permitting requirements is desired and basic CAD skills are important. The candidate should be an enthusiastic well-rounded individual with the ability to provide effective written and verbal communication to others. Colorado PE registration or ability to obtain within 6 months is required. To be considered for this opportunity, send resume and references.
DESIGN ENGINEER: An entry level position with excellent benefits for a person with 2-4 years experience (or 0- 2 years experience with BSCE) in Civil Engineering. This position requires the ability to work with our Project Engineers to assist in the design and preparation of alignment, grading, drainage, paving, sewer and water plans for residential, commercial and municipal projects. Ability to organize drawing database for efficient production with minimal supervision. Good writing and computer drafting skills capable of performing engineering computations, preparing plans on AutoCAD, Land Development Desktop (LDD), specification and quantity takeoffs. Proficient in Microsoft Office/AutoCAD
PROJECT SURVEYOR POSITION: We are looking for an experienced Professional Crew Chief to help in our continued growth. Position requires minimum 5 years experience, (Land Surveyor license a plus), in all aspects of field work. Responsibilities include but not limited to data collection and calculations for boundary surveys, detailed topographic surveys, construction staking, and ALTA Surveys. Candidate must be a leader and be able to organize multiple projects, and maintain and organize all equipment. Experience in GPS and robotic equipment a plus.
Required skills:
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree
- CO-licensed Professional Land Surveyor or LSIT with extensive surveying experience
- Minimum of 6 years experience with emphasis on boundary and GPS work
- Microstation Inroads or AutoCAD background
- Excellent organizational and written and oral communication skills

INSTRUMENT OPERATOR: We are looking for an experienced instrument operator capable of using modern field surveying instruments. Persons in this position are responsible for, reading and using modern surveying and measuring instruments, recording and preparing survey notes.
Requires a minimum of two (2) years' recent experience as an instrument operator or an Associates Degree from an accredited Land Surveying School.
